The Bell Tower
On the hill behind the historic cottage you will find the old bell tower, which once warned the town and surrounding area of fire and mine accidents or disasters. This has been recently restored to it's former glory, and a new section of walkway is being constructed from the cottage to the bell tower.

Water Race Walkway
Take some time out and follow a section
of an old water race through beautiful rainforest. You will pass through a
historic cemetery, obtain stunning views of town and coastline, come
upon an old miner's hut and see tunnels galore. The walk is easy to follow
and suitable for all levels of fitness.
We do ask that you remain on the marked track for your own safety, as this
is an old mine site.
110 miles of water races were constructed in the area, designed to bring water to the miners from further back in the ranges.
